The output of 'uname -a' on the new desktop is: Linux baetis 4.4.186 #2 SMP
Sun Jul 21 20:34:29 CDT 2019 x86_64 AMD Ryzen 7 2700 Eight-Core Processor
AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux

What does the '#2 SMP' mean following the kernel version number? It does not
seem to fit the options shown on the uname man page.

My 32-bit systems have kernels (and initial RAM disks) built with SMP
support and I thought that applied to only 32-bit hosts. For example, Linux
salmo 4.4.157-smp #1 SMP Fri Sep 21 02:24:19 CDT 2018 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) II
X2 255 Processor AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux on the 32-bit desktop.

TIA,

Rich
