Every now and again, somebody comes asking about a backup solution. I personally use Btrfs based storage and backup server with snapshots for de-duplicated time based/versioned backup. This is of course Btrfs specific - which a) scares away ext2/3 people b) upsets Zfs people.
Anyway - Today, an article reminded me that I played with Borg - which does not rely on modern COW filesystem. I liked it a lot - while playing with it. Check it out - it might be just the right solution - for your backup needs: https://www.borgbackup.org/demo.html As I said I liked it when playing with it for couple of hours, though I do not use it for my use case. Hope it helps, Tomas _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
