Ubiquity makes both centrally managed gear (unify) and standalone units
(edge). The whole point of centrally managed unifi line - is the central
management and orchestration.

Just imagine small hotel with 5 different networks, 20 APs, a few switches,
a router and access control.

Even residential house with 3 APs would be pretty tedious to keep going -
channel selection for all APs depending on 5 neighbors channel use, client
hand off from AP to AP without dropping the connection, ....

Different needs call for different gear.
