[PLUG] Pairing Logitech mouse with its unifying receiver

Well over  a year ago I took my laptop to the PLUG clinic where folks 
helped me pair my Logitech M585 mouse with its Unifying Receiver. I 
don't have any documentation for it, and what I find with a Duck Duck Go 
search isn't helping. I've tried using the Unifying Receiver from my 
laptop in the second machine, and it works fine. What I can't fine is 
software to let me pair the mouse with the second receiver.

Is it possible that I had a CD with the mouse that had software on it 
for Linux? If so, I probably still have it ... somewhere.

A suitable clue stick would be appreciated.
