Thanks, Daniel. I have that 2003 edition of "Postfix ..." by Kyle Dent. That book is indeed better than nothing for Postfix itself, but only has four pages about Mailman, and nothing about spamassassin (or certs, or ...) The book describes Postfix version 2.0.10. The new server I'm putting together (Ubuntu 20.08 LTS) says: > postconf -d mail_version mail_version = 3.4.13 ... and I presume there have been one or two changes :-) Seriously, much has been added for security, and certs, and many other new things that could be done Very Badly without authoritative guidance. Ah well. Perhaps, by some miracle, the man pages and docs are actually helpful to semi-noobs, rather than an excuse for former-noobs to natter "RTFM!" Keith P.S. while preparing to donate much of my personal library to the Internet Archive Digital Library, I discovered that I have TWO copies of the 2003 Dent book. IA gets at least one copy, or both if I find a more modern Postfix book. -- Keith Lofstrom [email protected]
