Daniel/Ken, Have it resolved. The key is to select the text itself, not the window/layer in which it appears. A user on the gimp-user mail list taught me this. Selecting the text tool allows one to highlight the text using the 'I' cursor. When the text is highlighted changing its size on the text box is immediately reflected by the text itself. I must have missed that when I read the text sections in the online GIMP manual. Thanks both, Rich
