I'm setting up my Lenovo T430 with Slackware64-15.0. In ~/.bash_profile is the command to load ~./keymap. This fails to work and I've had the same issue with other laptops, but never on desktops.
Because I never use the CAPS LOCK key, but consistently use the CTRL key I've always swapped the two on the left side of the keyboard. I'd like some ideas on how to determine why it doesn't load and how to get it working in both consoles and virtual terminals when X is running. TIA, Rich
