Moderated: -1 Too Vague depends on what your application is. when thinking about how to scale, you look for bottlenecks. is it computational? network? disk? memory bus bottleneck can be a killer. there are a lot of things to consider. so step 1 is to figure out why your app runs too slow on one machine (ie. which resource runs out first?) and then go from there.
