I have no idea how this stacks up, but there is a new VMWare competitor it looks like. Unlike xen, this one can run windows on linux. This could just be a qemu clone, or something faster like vmware is. Anyway their web site doesn't have a lot of information about the technology and no pricing has been announced yet. I'm installing a beta version to try out, so it appears to not be vapor ware.
