I would guess that if that really was your windows partition, this
jacked your windows system.  Have you checked that yet?

I haven't tried to dual boot Gentoo, so I can't tell you specifics,
but I'm gonna gues that you want to mount whatever your boot partition
was to /mnt/gentoo/boot

for example:
/dev/hda1 Windows
/dev/hda2 /boot
/dev/hda3 /swap
/dev/hda4 /

you would want to mount boot to:  mount /dev/hda2 /mnt/gentoo/boot
