I have a box running three different IDE chipsets (High Point, Silicon Image, and nVidia). You will find that almost all of the cheapo cards (<$30) are running the SIIL 0680 chipset, which is supported by the driver of the Linux kernel enabled with CONFIG_BLK_DEV_SIIMAGE=y. What is printed on the chip? Or, what do you see when you run lspci with the card installed? Mike .___________________________________________________________________.
