It is actually a series of proprietary scripts that interact with cpanel, which probably won't help a whole lot.

Basically, they all use perl and Net::DNS::Zone::Parser to parse out BIND style zone files and then check against the mydns database for adds/deletes of rows.

We moved to MyDNS, since everything is in mysql, with a MyDNS cache and
a mysql cache, most of the well-used zones are always ready, and it

over 330,000 zones in it. It is an incredibly good DNS server for that
many records. It is more work than BIND since you have to deal with
mysql as well, but worth it for the advantages in handling large amounts
of zones.

Wow. Thanks for sharing this! I had always figured MyDNS was nice for my small
time
hosting, but to hear that it's handling hundreds of thousands of zones
flawlessly is
great.

If you have any management scripts you don't mind sharing, I'd love to take a
look at them.
