Hey guys, just a quick plea for help. If you've tried out the chromium nightlies, you know that it is a pretty awesome browser already. But there is one huge problem that the developers seem to be a bit unconvinced of. I'm hoping you can help convince them.
Single-click in the URL omnibar highlights the entire URL. This is common behavior on Windows browsers, but breaks convention on Linux, where single-click places the cursor, and double- or triple- click selects whole words or lines. This *BREAKS* X's pastebuffer. Merely trying to change the URL in chromium forces whatever contents you had in the pastebuffer into the ether, replacing them with the old URL you were trying to overwrite. No other browser on Linux does this. Luckily, current OSX builds have the correct behavior (single click places instead of highlights), but the chromium developers are arguing that even this should be "fixed." So what can you do (if you care at all about this)?
