I'd say MySQL has its market share because curious people could double-click on "setup.exe" and have a database. PostgreSQL only recently added support for Windows. Back when MySQL was gaining all of its momentum, the vast majority of developers were still running Windows desktops. If you wanted to play with Postgres, you had to first install Linux (SCARY!!) before you could even try out the database. Thus more developers cozied up to MySQL, pushed said technology to companies/employers, and now we have cats and dogs living together... mass hysteria. -Bryan /* PLUG: http://plug.org, #utah on irc.freenode.net Unsubscribe: http://plug.org/mailman/options/plug Don't fear the penguin. */
