One more (semi-)Vim-related link. I meant to demo this during the presentation but it skipped my mind.
Xcape [1] is a tiny X11 utility that runs in the background to intercept keypresses. If you press and release Control it fires an Escape instead. If you hold Control and press another key it fires Ctrl-<key> as normal. If you have Caps Lock mapped to Control it is a great way to overload that incredibly valuable keyboard real-estate. And, referencing that image of the keyboard vi was developed on, it makes Vim oh so much nicer to use. :-) [1] https://github.com/alols/xcape /* PLUG: http://plug.org, #utah on irc.freenode.net Unsubscribe: http://plug.org/mailman/options/plug Don't fear the penguin. */
