I really do get why you'd prefer a reflowable format for some things, but for me, the graphic design of a book or magazine (for some of them, at least) can add a significant level of appeal to it. And I don't think I'm alone in the geek world for appreciating good page layout; look at how long Knuth spent on TeX so he could have his books typeset well. PDF is a wonderful format for a magazine because it preserves the significant graphic design work that goes into magazines. I think that an electronic-only publication probably ought to focus their design work on a more flexible format and technical publications with an electronic option ought to supply both PDF and some reflowable e-book format, but I certainly enjoy the PDF option for publications with significant graphic design elements. --Levi /* PLUG: http://plug.org, #utah on irc.freenode.net Unsubscribe: http://plug.org/mailman/options/plug Don't fear the penguin. */
