There used to be a way to stop Google from doing a country redirect when
searching. But it doesn't seem to work anymore. Basically I'm trying to
do a search on shopping.google.com but apparently Google has never heard
that people outside the US often shop on US sites (often delivering to
an American address).

Apparently the mobile Google search app can be configured to return
results from a specific country, but not the main web site.

Does anyone know if there's still a way to prevent Google from doing
this redirect, short of using a proxy?

cheers,
Michael
