Hi folks. I am curious as to what I'm doing wrong. I have two virtual computers under VMWare that share a network with the Win 10 host. Both run Gentoo Linux. In one I have successfully configured CUPS to send to the printer on the windows host via smb. But when I try to tell the other machine to send it's job to the first machine, so that first machine can act as a central print server, I can't get it to work. I've tried everything I can think of. lpd://athena/ENVY doesn't work, ipp://athena/ENVY doesn't work, http://athena:631/printers/ENVY and https://athena:631/printers/ENVY don't work. Each gives different error messages (except http and https which give the same error).

Clearly I'm doing SOMETHING wrong. And I KNOW it's not a firewall issue because in the case of HTTP/HTTPS I can see the cups on athena receive the request while watching the error_log that is set to debug level. So, the question remains, if I'm doing something wrong, and clearly I am, WHAT am I doing wrong?
