OK, with some amateur Perl reading and the judicious use of a comment character to the Alien plugin and now it's working. I'm still not clear if this is a deliberate attempt to make it difficult for people to use SlimServer to transcode BBC streams to mp3 streams over the internet. If it is then so be it, but I wouldn't put that limitation in personally. If it's a bug then I'm happy to point out what I've had to comment out, but I suspect I may well have broken it for other situations - after all the code must have served some purpose originally. Still seems to work on WinAmp, WMP, Softsqueeze, SB1 and SB2. -- "The biggest problem encountered while trying to design a system that was completely foolproof, was, that people tended to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools."
