I figured that those streams were alternates...I guess my real question is: Can this process be hidden from the user? Is it neccessary to actually display the backup streams? Can the stream redundancy/switching occur transparently in the background? From a usability perspective, the redundant streams listed in the playlist seem confusing... to me at least.
They might seem confusing, but it's simply the playlist as slimserver receives it. And it will need the backup streams in case the first gets interrupted (yes, this happened to me before). So it can't just ignore them.
But this is open source: Anything could be done, of course... Though I doubt there's enough interest in this "problem".
