For cook.bundle, just control-click and "Show package contents". I think
it is in the MacOS subfolder of Contents.
I can't recall where I got mplayer from, as I tried several versions at
different times.
The version I have has a creation date of 16 November 2004 and a size
of 6435544 bytes.
Had I suggested you look at the permissions on cook.bundle and its
enclosing folders? For me they are Owner, Read and Write, and Group and
Other, Read Only. If by any chance they aren't readable you will have
problems.
I'm rather scraping the barrel now, as I feel it should work, and I
can't see why not.
On the chicken soup principle ("Give the poor man some chicken soup."
"Madam, that won't help. The man is dead." "So will it hurt."), do try
restarting your computer. Sometimes things in places like /Library only
get noticed when the computer starts.
