I keep my music in two formats - lossless for the SB2 and AAC for the iPods. I keep the files in differant directories - and let slimserver scan the lossless files only.
I use iTunes to do the compression and manage the iPods, but turn off SlimServer iTunes integration to stop Slimserver picking up the AAC files. Although I do use the iTunesUpdate plug in (and some scripts) to keep consistent data on my played music in iTunes across formats. I'd like to use MusicMagic from both iTunes and Slimserver - and using the latest MusicMagic filters I can tell slimserver to only ask for lossless files.
