It is not a problem for me, because I have decided to "never" change the filename and instead just change the tag information in the file if something is incorrect. Do you often rename tracks so this is a major problem for you ?
This problem could be (partially) solved if the tracks are additionally identified by musicbrainz-ids. In fact, my own TrackStat-like plugin (which I never got around to publishing) is based on musicbrainz-ids and therefore tolerant of file renamings. If I can't find mbids in a file, I fall back on using the url, though.
Would you accept patches that add this capability to your TrackStat plugin? I think I'll never get around to publish (and support) my own Plugin, but yours is already "out there" ;-)
