I'll try to keep it simple :)

1) The plugin says in the web interface "This player can have up to 8
alarms: one alarm that goes off every day and individual alarms for
each day of the week." To get up to 8 alarms I have to install several
instances of this plugin, right? So that I will have Alarm Plugin A, B,
C, etc.?

You can have ANY number. it is only the built-in that is limited to eight. You'll have to install a new copy of the advanced alarm for each one you want. Edit the line starting with "package" so that each is a unique name (AlarmPlugin1, AlarmPlugin2, etc) and save the file as that same name (AlarmPlugin1.pm, AlarmPlugin2.pm, etc)

2) Duration Manual what is supposed to be? The one it goes on playing
until you snooze it or turn it off?
that's correct.

3) Under the Month setting I don't see a "12 months" option. Why limit
an alarm to a single month? Or, more properly, why can't one programa a
single alarm for all the months.

The month and day is ONLY applicable when you choose the "specific date" option. This was a patch provided to me to support a specific feature request.

3) This applies to the standard alarm I guess (a confirmation would be
nice). When I choose Alarm Playlist "current", will this be saved so
that even if I change the music being displayed on the right side
(using Fishbone skin here) the alarm will play the music I had chosen
at setup time? Or I would need to have an actual saved playlist for
this to work?

"current" means it will play whatever is the current playlist when the alarm goes off.
if you want a specific playlist, you will have to save it and choose it.
