OK have tried the 2 local host tests, and both fail. To check I'm not going mad I have got some of the tracks to play in the MM player, and foobar. The file location is correct, indeed the trackstat plugin 'sees' the great majority of files that are in MM, it just seems to have something against certain artists or albums.
Out of interest I have played one of the offending tracks through Slimserver using mm's send to button, it played with no problem. Somewhat confused.
