Is it practical to run MusicMagic in a "leftalone mode". I have not
figured a way where MM will "swallow" any music I added to a drive into
its database. So I was thinking of running MM on a seperate remote PC.
I run MIP headless on linux, with an line added to the slimserver
startup script to make sure it run on startup. the API can be accessed
from a web browser, so every so often I can trigger a full refresh of
my music with MIP, start validation and wait for slimserver to detect
and add the changes. I run Slimserver from 6.5 trunk and MIP is on the
current linux release. They've performed fairly well and the rescans,
while not lightening fast, are manageable. There is a development
branch that does speed up Mip scans quite a bit.
