Hi kdf Would it not make sense for slimserver to utilise more of MusicIP. After all simplistically MusicIPs only job in life is to analyse the music and bring all that together, whereas simplistically Slimserver is just sending the music to be played to the slimplayer. (Its doing a lot more but hopefully you get my point) What is it that Slimserver needs that is missing from MusicIP as I would have thought that MusicIP had everything and more in its own database and to pull this data would be so much quicker? Moving slightly to an integration moment, :) Is there not greater scope for features that could tap into the MusicIPs "knowledge" and therefore improve greatly what slimserver is dishing out? It seems from my playing around that the integration isnt much more than pushing a playlist around at the moment. As a quick example making it more environmental; If I held down button 1 that would indicate that I was in a chilled out mood, maybe in my bathroom and wanted relaxing music, whereas if I held down button 9 it would mean I was in my home gym and therefore wanted some drum and bass or something. Slimserver would "talk" with MusicIP and just make it happen, without all this finding a suitable song first and then seeding from it, or using the browse by genre/random mix. Just some thoughts :) Many Thanks -- cparker ------------------------------------------------------------------------ cparker's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2083 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=26601 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
