If it is doing database conversion you should see something like this

The important stuff is the "collate = utf8_unicode_ci" part.
I have not tried this on 7.0 so there might be some more problems
related to this in 7.0 that I haven't seen yet. But in 6.5.1 the
correction I made in 1.29.1 made it work.
Have you been running 6.5.0 or 6.5.1 on the same database that has been
upgraded to 7.0, or is your 7.0 a completely new installation ?
I can try to install 7.0 in my setup later if you don't we can't see
anything strange in your log files.
