Thanks for looking Michael. Am away at the moment but have an old pCP here with me (3.11). Have just updated LMS to v7.9.1, 1501668375, Wed Aug 2 10:17:42 UTC 2017) perl 5.024000 and set it to not use MySqueeze ... and artwork is working fine for FIP stations.
I can see from logs (enabled Debug on async http) that local LMS is fetching the artwork over https without a problem - and can see it displaying fine on Joggler (JiveLite). What I should have done, of course, was repeat the problem on this installation before upgrading (from 7.9.0).
