BT, from memory I recall there is an option given on the Start page of the web GUI in install the MPD player. I have never used it, and when I have used max2play I either install LMS alone or use Squeezelite as a player. If you have not installed the MPD player then perhaps it is the Squeezelite you are seeing, this is started by default I think. Go to the AudioPlayer page and check if the box is ticked or not (also for the Airplay) save the setting if you don't want it to start.
