No, it's not because you don't have hardware but if you were not planning to have SB hardware and are mainly interested in airplay, then there might be other options. For your tests, I also recommend that you do not try synchronized players. I agree the solution is temperamental today and believe me I've spent hours and hours to understand why, unsuccessfully. I did a major redesign recently but with very little improvement. The main issue is that the part that sends audio in HTTP to LMS stalls in packet sending for no apparent reason, except network instability
