Since the script polls the server in intervals, sends queries / requests to the server, and may have to wait for a reply, a certain latency is unavoidable. A LMS plugin would be faster, since it could subscribe to server events (e.g. track change), and directly call server functions (e.g. mute player) without network overhead.
