OK, I got it to play. Chosing FLAC as format did the trick. I can now use SqueezeCtrl as Control Point and get the Chromecast Audio to stream from NAS / LMS. Unfortunately I am getting short stutters about once a minute and 0.5 second gaps between tracks (flow being checked in the control panel). I'm a bit out of options, I am afraid.
