Yup, I've added ascending/descending sort support to all the library sort modes now. Been meaning to do this for ages, and turns out it was pretty simple..
3. Browse library by date. I haven't figured out what this is sorting by - looks random.
I've altered the tooltip to clear things up here. Date is the folder-date, so it's basically like slimserver's new music option, only it lists ALL the music in date-added-to-the-server order, rather than just the last 100 items..

Ah, yeah the cover chooser needs a more work doing.. I'll get back to it at some point soon, as it's letting the side down somewhat..
9. I turned the player power on. I double clicked on an album and it said in the status bar "stopped". It didn't even try to queue the album up.
Seems to be an issue with Slimserver/CLI here.. It goes into a kind of standby mode after a while by the looks of things.. I can do a power-on command prior to queueing up new music when the player is off, but it shouldnt really require that.. I'll submit it as an SS bug..
10. It would be kind of nice to be able to drag an album from cover chooser into the player window.
Basic drag'n'drop from the library and tree tabs is now supported. I'll hopefully expand the UI a bit at some point so the drag cursor's got the dragged album artwork in, etc..
Could Moose at least detect when it's library is out of date with Slimserver's last rescan?
Yup.. Good point.. Been meaning to add that for a while.. It's in now..
