Excellent - I was thinking of something similar myself. My idea was to run different screensavers according to a set timetable.
Example: I'd like my "is my train running on time" screensaver* to be displayed between 7:30 and 8:00 each weekday morning, and 'GoalRush ' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=32165) to run between 15:00 and 17:00 each Saturday.
