I have just built a very basic machine and thought I should just try if
SlimCD could boot on it, even if it would not be able to be a working
SlimServer solution.

It's a machine with VGA / sound / network adapter on the MB + a SATA
HDD and a DVD burner. Since it's a SATA disk, and SATA disks (I
believe) aren't supported, I didn't think it could be a working system
setup - but I thought it should be able to boot. But does that error
message indicate that it can't find any standard IDE HDD in the
machine, and that is mandatory? Or something else? Could a USB disk be
used?

BTW, Does the SlimNAS have the same limitation regarding SATA disks?
