Still having issues with &/and
My major example being tagged as
Derek & The Dominos, Layla and other assorted love songs.

One of the big challenges I face is that some of the services I use
don't have any API. Which means that it's mostly trial & error to get a
match (or ugly page scraping). Which is extremely inefficient. If I
wanted to check variations of names I'd end up in a huge number of requests.
Now that said, it seems that some of them pretty consistently use "and"
instead of "&". I'll try to leverage that.
In your very particular case I'm still facing an issue, though: I don't
own any of their music. And Spotify seems to only list either live
versions with a stupid "live" appendix in the track name... or your
album in three different versions: "40th Anniversary / 2010 Remastered",
"Deluxe Edition", and "Super Deluxe Edition"... More work needs to be
done to get rid of those...
