OK, as there was no feedback from my recent question I decided to do the obvious thing and trust Michael and Martin's skills and just go ahead and see what happens.
There was no problem with updating from 7.9.1 to 8.0.0 following the instructions given at the start of this thread, and it could not have been easier (I have paid for software vastly more difficult to install than this); Martin, thank you, you are very good at what you do. No issues at all so far with V8 - Michael, thanks for your great development work too, really very professional. Last, and for me certainly not least, Erland's Plugins - no issues whatsoever! All my plugins were active, so I fired everything up, selected My Music on the Touch, then "Classical" (Multi Library), then "By Composers" and then "Haydn" and "Chamber" for the Genre (all Custom Scan & Browse), selected String Quartet No 55, selected as performers London Haydn Quartet and ... I was listening to hi-res music on the hi-fi again. Unsurprisingly I followed this with pouring a glass of malt whisky and sat back sipping contentedly. I have my music library at the latest supported level, still giving me the sorting and presentation that I want with no effort on my part and no problems. Thank you Erland for writing your plugins so solidly. As I said two posts earlier, I cannot find words to express my gratitude to Michael and Martin for the work that they have put in to keep LMS alive and well and better than anything else that I have seen. Thank you, and thanks also to all the others, Ralphy, bpa, Triode et al. Please do think of setting up a donation system even if it just helps with your expenses. But perhaps the deal with Logitech precludes that.
