In New Zealand (where I live) Pi products are noticeably dearer than in
the UK so I keep a search going on the local auction site. There are
often Pi 3Bs for sale that go around GBP 30 with lots of bits.
I'm running piCorePlayer LMS on a 2nd hand 3B, with a HiFiBerry HAT
(bought new) to provide reasonably-good-fi, and it all works really
well.
As others have said, make sure the power supply is up to the job. A
local shop was clearing some Pi 4 'Official' power supplies at half
price, with an adapter from USB-C to -B, they are working really well.
Happy bargain hunting!
