I think this is great. Lets see who takes the time to test it over the next month or so and when it's fully tested and debugged it can be the new version. Probably version 3, since you did so much with it.
I look at from any UI changes that may be required but it sounds pretty transparent. Maybe just adding the new features to the repository.
