MusicMon, The easiest way is just to turn the volume slider down in the MC zone that is controlling your Squeezebox. If you don't have a volume slider then check your MC 'Volume Options' because it's probably set to 'System Volume'.
In MC2Slim make sure that 'Use MC Volume' is unchecked under the 'Media Center' menu.
