I think there are two conversations going on here. The second is between the knowledgeable and the first to help me who knows little about Linux programs and programming.
I thank you all for helping me get this right and learn something. I observe that generally Linux presupposes a higher level of understanding in the user, and that means it is often less robust in the hands of those with little knowledge. As said previously I was proceeding very cautiously in those areas I didn't understand for fear of breaking my music streamer in a way I could not fix because of lack of knowledge. But I thank again those who have made available such goodies, and those who have helped me use them.
