I could be wrong but I thought you had to sync the squeezebox and Home speaker in order to play the music in both rooms at the same time. It certainty appears to work that way when you link the (sync them) the Home app shows the same track playing on the home speaker as is playing on the squeezebox. Have I misunderstood what the sync function does? Are you saying I can play a different track on my Home speaker than is playing on the squeezebox without using the sync function? The sync function appeared great as allows me to have the same music playing in every room at the same time (unless I misunderstood the function) I have in honesty not tried playing just on the Home speaker as that is not really a function I was looking for. In our situation the squeezebox is in the bedroom office where my other half has it playing (from our server) while working.
