Sorted now. Whilst m2p did compile the latest version of jivelite from
github, it then seems to copy in the ClockApplet.lua and ClockMeta.lua
from its own pre-compiled version, which appear to have caused the
issues above. 

For anyone else having the same issues, I addressed this by manually
copying the clock .lua files in from the latest version of jivelite on
github into the applet\clock folder, and now the clocks work in grid
skin and the dot matrix clock now fills the screen.
