The crumbtrail at the top shows > "Genres/Subgenres / Artists/Genres". So which "object type" puts a > header here? > Is this an artistheader, an albumheader, or a genreheader? The last thing you selected was a genre, so the header items shown here are those with object type "genreheader". In the same way, the header items shown after you actually select an artist in list will be those with object type "artistheader".

There are several files, basically one for each row in the header. Some rows even consists of several files, for example the "Search on" item. To find those you need to change you just have to go into the "Edit context menus/headers/footers" menu and every item that starts with "artistheader" represent something that is shown in the artist header. Also note that some items aren't actually displayed in all situations, as an example the "artistheader/LastFM Similar Artists" item is only shown if Custom Scan is installed and the LastFM scanning module has been used. The artist header will contain the same items independent on how it has been reached. There is currently no way to have different artist headers depending on how you reach an artist. But it is possible to configure different artist headers for different artists. For example one item for artists that has some tracks in the "Classical" genre and some other item for artists that doesn't have any tracks in the "Classical" genre. An example of this is shown on a tutorial on my wiki page called "Add browse menus and information for classical music to SlimServer" wnshall;219843 Wrote: > In the case of the Genre/SubGenre menu, suppose I wanted to get rid of > the list of artists in the header. "genreartist.template" in the > custombrowse\contexttemplates directory?) > Well actually if you just like to remove it for all artists, you just have to go into "Edit context menus/headers/footers" and then click the "Hide" or "Delete" link on the right side beside the element "genreheader/Artist". If you anyway is interested in the files, you can see the filename without the extension within () in the list in "Edit context menus/headers/footers". So for the "genreheader/Artist" item this means that it is stored in the file "CustomBrowse/ContextMenus/genreheaderartists.cb.context.values.xml" But it isn't recommended that you change or remove this file. If you like to hide the menu use the "Hide" buttons mentioned above, if you like to change it edit it from the web interface. When you edit it a new file will be saved in the directory "Browse configuration directory" you have specified in "Server Settings/Plugins". wnshall;219843 Wrote: > Feel free to tell me that I need to go learn XML on my own and to stop > bugging you.So far I don't think your questions has been related to XML, they > have been more related to the actual format and logic used in Custom Browse. So at the moment you can ask any questions in this forum. wnshall;219843 Wrote: > BTW, why did you design the custom browse artist headers to include a > list of albums and artists? At some time I think I had a plan to show "most played" or "highest rated" artists in the header. Maybe they should be removed from the default configuration ? -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.homeip.net) 'My download page' (http://erland.homeip.net/download) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library and RandomPlayList plugins' (http://wiki.erland.homeip.net/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=37442 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
