Can I use command prompt instructions to manually add the configuration? NB The "Spotty Authentification" option is not showing in my Spotify device lists.
If you enable info logging for plugin.spotty (Settings/Advanced/Logging) you should see the command it's using to authenticate. Copy/paste that to the command window to see what happens.
