I'm sorry, I've pretty much given up on armv5. But then:

That kind of tells me it's not failing to run the helper, but some of the the params. Please enable logging for plugin.spotty, try auth once again, then send me your server.log.zip (https://www.dropbox.com/request/T3RctyzGgNg0oFDubq6a).
