In both cases the load spikes at 0.5 at the start of the feed before
settling down to something around 0.05, so not a high load at all.
You are right I could not see a mplayer-stdout or flac or lame process.
In both cases i ran a ps to see all processes and didnt see one. The
only possible looks to be the following perl process.

Is it something in the implementation that it doesnt fork a separate
