I have a bizarre situation trying to (and kind of successfully) streaming AlienBBC over SSH. I created a vanilla XP Pro install with nightly SS7 r17587, latest install pack for Alien (inc mplayer), lame 3.97 and streaming to softsqueeze 3.6 (limiting bitrate to 160) over ssh.
The problem I am having is that I kick off Radio1 from softsqueeze and it freezes on now playing with nothing actually playing. I can then VNC through to my server machine, kill the lame process, and the radio immediately starts playing (after spawning new lame & socketwrapper processes). I have enclosed two debug files (player.source & player.streaming) debug1 up to the point prior to killing the lame process, and then debug 2 as I kill the process and the radio starts playing. I would be grateful if anyone has any ideas at what is happening! As an aside, radio to my SB2s and SB3 is no problem - probably due to no bitrate limiting.
