I had the same problems until I noticed that there was a squeezecenter-7.0-noCPAN directory in my installation directory. I renamed that directory to squeezecenter and restarted my Squeezecenter in FreeNas and now everything is working. It seems that the installation of version 7 uses the tar-filename to create the installation directory but slimnas thinks that it is called squeezecenter!
